A memorial service for Carrie Laverne Smith of Harahan, La.,will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Visitation is Saturday from 1-4 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 61, died Feb. 22, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on March 17, 1942, to W. Vernon Smith andIva Pearl Case Smith.

She was a registered nurse at Oschner’s Hospital in New Orleans,La., where she worked in case management.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her daughters and son-in-law, Pam and SteveCantalano of Harahan and Melissa Stoufflat of New Orleans; hersisters, Margaret Watts of Denham Springs, La., Imer Jean Kimble ofVicksburg, Nita Smith and Betty Walker of Brookhaven; her brother,C. Marcell Smith of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, Brice, Collinand Allie Cantalano, and Russell Guidroz; her special friend, JerrySmith, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces andgreat-nephews.
