Services for Liddie B. “Lillie” Allen, of Baton Rouge, La., are1 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel onNatchez Drive with burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen, 99, died March 8, 2009, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on Feb. 23, 1910, to George T. Brister andFannie Bullock Brister.

She was a homemaker and worked at Silver Cross Home as a nurse’saide during the early and mid-’70s. She was a member of UnionBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WillisAllen; her sisters, Lamanda “Mandy” Martin, Julie White, LithaRoberts Rushing, Lether “Lethe” Breeden Simmons, Mederia “Dero”Sampson; her brothers, Outland “J.O.” Brister, Arlin Brister,Aulton Brister and Almon Brister; and two great-grandchildren,Brandon and Morgan Blanchard.

Survivors are her daughters, Fannie Mae Bales, of McComb,Georgia Field, Flora Hall and Jo Ann Renfroe, all of Baton Rouge; asister, Arlo Miller, of Loveland, Colo.; her nine grandchildren;her 16 great-grandchildren; and her 10great-great-grandchildren.
