Two Brookhaven murder cases took a step closer to trialMonday.

At his arraignment Monday in Lincoln County Circuit Court, RobertM. Wilcher, 21, of 619 North Laura St., pleaded not guilty. Hisomnibus hearing is scheduled for June 1 at 9 a.m., at which time atrial date is expected to be set.

Wilcher is charged with murder for his alleged involvement in theSept. 20, 2010 shooting death of 27-year-old DomanicRichardson.

Wilcher turned himself into authorities and told them where theweapon was located shortly after the incident. Richardson was shotmultiple times outside Wilcher’s home in Cloverdale and later diedat King’s Daughters Medical Center.

In another court matter, Tye Q. Williams, 17, of 632 North SixthSt. appeared before Judge David Strong for his omnibushearing.

Williams is charged with murder in his alleged involvement in theOct. 24, 2010 shooting death of friend and classmate, BryantHolloway, on Short Street.

A status conference has been set for May 23, and Williams is set togo to trial on June 20.

The defense filed a motion for an investigator to look into thecase for its side.

“There’s nothing to report right now,” said Williams’ attorney,Jason E. Tate. “We’re trying to get an investigator.”
