Graveside services for John Henry (Pete) Magee, of Bogue Chitto,are 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, at Bogue Chitto Cemetery. BrookhavenFuneral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 until 2:30 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Magee, 86, died May 12, 2011, at Renee’s Personal Care Home inBogue Chitto. He was born in Lincoln County on March 26, 1925, toHenry Waterson Magee and Georgia Nettles Magee.

He was a retired rural mail carrier which he did for 25 years. Healso worked on the railroad, drove a Greyhound bus, worked at J.J.Meyers Lumber Yard, was a farmer and cattleman. He was a U.S. Armyveteran of World War II serving under the rank of sergeant inEurope and the Philippines. He was a member of Bogue Chitto BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Edgar, Hughand Ray Magee; his sisters, Gladys McDaniel, Elsie Mae Brown andJuanita Davis.

Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Idelle Wallace Magee of BogueChitto; his son, Tim Magee of Bogue Chitto; his daughters, DiannePeeples and her husband, Steve, of Florence, and Mary James andGabe of McCall Creek; his grandchildren, Tate Reeves and his wife,Elee, Johnny Magee and wife, Rusti, Todd Reeves and wife, Leigh,Matthew Magee and Austin Peeples; his great-grandchildren, FaythMarie Magee, Neeli Magee, Noah Magee, Tyler Reeves, Emma Reeves,Turner Reeves and Gaines Reeves; and many nieces and nephews.
