The Brookhaven Little Theatre is having aparty this holiday weekend: a “Dead Man’s Party.”

    That’s the name of a 30-minute Halloween-themed show that will beheld twice each night at the Haven Theatre leading up to Oct.31.

    “Dead Man’s Party” is brief, only 30 minutes, and features singing,dancing and zombies.

    “It will be a good time, just a fun show,” said director BenjiStockton.

    The show will run at 7 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday,Sunday and Monday. Spectators are encouraged to come in costume ifthey desire.

    Tickets are $5. The proceeds will be used to fund the summer teenproduction next June.

    Stockton directed “Sweeney Todd” at the Haven earlier this year,and did choreography and costumes for “Joseph and the AmazingTechnicolor Dreamcoat” last year.

    Stockton said some at the Haven had expressed an interest in aHalloween-themed production, and “Dead Man’s Party” was a script hehad access to.

    Stockton said “Dead Man’s Party” centers around the character Dr.Fright, who resurrects his friends as zombies for a party. LoganCap portrays Dr. Fright, one of three roles in the production forCap.

    The music is mainly “old school rock,” Stockton said, featuringsongs by artists such as Alice Cooper and Bon Jovi.

    The production has been on an expedited practice schedule, withrehearsals beginning earlier this month.

    “It has been tight to pull everything together,” Stockton saidThursday night before practice, indicating sets that still neededto be finished.

    Stockton has also had to deal with a diminishing cast. He beganwith 15 but is down to nine.

    “We had to rework some of the choreography,” Stockton said.

    For Cap, basic choreography like walking down stairs has provendifficult.

    “I feel like I’m going to die coming down these stairs,” Cap saidat Thursday’s practice, standing above stairs wearing a zombiemask.

    “Can you see in the mask?” Stockton asked.

    “I just can’t see down,” Cap replied.

    BLT’s main season begins the first weekend in December with aproduction of “A Christmas Story.” Season tickets for the upcomingseason can be purchased at the Taste of the Trust in November, atBrookhaven Music and Sound and at the door of the first show.
