Ethel Durr Nevels

Ethel Durr Nevels, 94, of Brookhaven, went to be with her Lordand Savior on June 15, 2007. The funeral service will be atRiverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel on June 18 at 2 p.m. withburial in the Easthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held on June17 from 2 until 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born Jan. 28, 1913 to Hettie and Mereidth Durr, Mrs. Nevels wasemployed as a supervisor at Stahl Urban Co. in 1941 untilretirement and thereafter returning to work on a part timebasis.

She loved her work and her church, Pearlhaven Baptist, alongwith every member. Mrs. Nevels was an active miracle at 94 with heryard, flowers and garden that she cared for so dearly. Havingstrong mind, body and soul, she was a true testament ofChristianity and was greatly loved by all who knew her.

She was so beloved to her family and will forever remain intheir thoughts and deepest love through eternity.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Nevels Smith; herson-in-law, Homer Smith, of Madison; her grandson, Steven BruceRutland, of Orlando, Fla.; her granddaughter, Karen Diane Rutland,of Jackson; her brother, Elmer Durr; and her nephew, RichardNevels.

Memorials may be made in loving memory of Mrs. Nevels toPearlhaven Baptist Church at 201 Railroad Street, Brookhaven, MS,39601.
