Funeral services for Helen Ruth Redd, of Brookhaven, are 1 p.m.on Friday, Jan. 21, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel,with burial in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Miss Redd, 84, died Jan. 19, 2011, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Mississippi on Dec. 3, 1926 to James OtisRedd and Hattie Wooten Redd.

She retired from South Central Bell after 33 years of service. Shewas also a Bell South Pioneer. She was a lifelong member of Mt.Zion Church of Christ and also attended Highway 84 Church ofChrist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her siblings, Otis Redd ofPort Arthur, Texas, and Robert Redd, Parson Redd, AnnieHollingsworth and Vera Redd, all of Brookhaven.

Survivors are her sister, Jessie Jewell Franklin of Brookhaven; aspecial niece and caregiver for 20 years, Cynthia Case and herhusband, Nubby; and many nieces and nephews.
