Funeral services for Mildred D. Jacobsen, of Brookhaven, were 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

     Mrs. Jacobsen, 95, died Aug. 17, 2012 at Golden Living Center – Brook Manor. She was born in Mississippi on Jan. 14, 1917, to Robert and Pinky Saucier Diamond.

     She was a secretary for the U.S. Navy, where she served in Vietnam and Danang. She also owned and operated Colonial Flowers, where she touched many lives through her flowers. Mrs. Jacobsen was of the Methodist faith.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Chuck Jacobsen and daughter-in-law, Barbara R. Jacobsen; grandson, Greg Jacobsen; and great-grandson, Josh Jacobsen.

     Survivors are her son, Jake Jacobsen; daughter-in-law, Kate Jacobsen; grandchildren, Paul Jacobsen, of Brookhaven, and Eric Jacobsen and wife, Kelly, of Brandon; great-grandchildren, Jana and Ben Jacobsen, Joseph Jacobsen, of Magee, LeeAnne Chance and Chase Jacobsen, and Ryker Jacobsen, of Kentwood, La.; and special friend, LaVern Phelan.
