Dorothy Jean Berry Kimble, 75, of Bossier City, La., died onFeb. 8, 2011.

Visitation for friends and extended family will be from 10:30 until11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, at Brookhaven Funeral Home onNorth Jackson Street, with a graveside service following at noon atNew Hope Methodist Church Cemetery in Loyd Star.

Dot was born on May 8, 1935, in Fayette, and was reared in Wesson.She was a member of Cypress Baptist Church in Bossier City. She wasa schoolteacher who last taught in Laurel, from 1966 to 1975. Shemost loved reading and spending time with her five grandchildren.Dot was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston,La.

Left to keep her alive in their hearts are her husband of 55 years,W.D. “Buddy” Kimble Jr.; her children, Lori Kimble Alford andhusband Tim, Kevin Kimble and wife Dorothy Munday Kimble; hersiblings, Dwight Moody Davis and spouse Anita, David Davis withspouse Marilyn and family, Phyllis Davis Holloway and family, andKatie D. Wilcher and family; her grandchildren, Brandon Kimble,Emily Kimble, Jordan Alford, Anna Kathryn Alford and Lauren Alford;along with many other friends and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to theAmerican Cancer Society.
