Services for Lula M. Adams of Bogue Chitto were 11 a.m. Monday,June 25, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in ForrestHill Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn. Graveside services are 11 a.m.Friday, June 29, at Forrest Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Adams, 87, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at King’sDaughters Medical Center. She was born in Bogue Chitto on Sept. 20,1913, to the late Judge Mosely and Martha Elizabeth HerringtonHart.

She was retired from Illinois Central Railroad. She was a memberof Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School at Labelle BaptistChurch and Trinity Baptist Church for more than 46 years. She was aformer WMU president and Sunday School president. She was a memberof the Poetry Society of Tennessee, where she served as thepresident in 1986 and 1987. She was a member of the National LeagueAmerican Pen Women.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Noel EugeneAdams Sr.; son, Noel Eugene Adams Jr.; brothers, Edgar, Elmer,Calvin, Junius, Otis, Alton and Theodore Hart; and sisters, MinnieAdams and Virgie R. Hart.

Survivors are her nephews, James M. Hart, Alton R. Hart, WendellR. Hart, Huey P. Hart and Bobby Anderson; and nieces, PaulineRacland, Martha Moore, Edwina Peaster, Syble Lang, Christine Smith,Janis Landrum, Frances Davis, Juanita Hutcherson and BettyHarris.
