Services for Shelia J. Benjamin, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m., Monday,Nov. 19, at St. Paul M.B. Church with burial in Carver HeightsCemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 2 until 7 p.m. at R.E. Tyler FuneralHome. Family will be present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mrs. Benjamin, 49, died Nov. 14, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on Aug. 14, 1958, to William Walls and HelenJones.

Preceding her in death were her mother; and a brother, MelvinJones.

Survivors are her husband, Eugene Benjamin, of Brookhaven; her son,Sherrod Johnson, of Brookhaven; and her daughters, Wykeshia Johnsonand Helena Benjamin.

Derwin ‘Mr. Peanut’ McDaniels

Services for Derwin “Mr. Peanut” McDaniels, of Slidell, La., are 2p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Siloam M.B. Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m. with family presentfrom 6 until 7 p.m. at R.E. Tyler Funeral Home.

Mr. McDaniels, 17, died Nov. 12, 2007, at Mandeville State Hospitalin Mandeville, La. He was born on Sept. 19, 1990, to JosephRobinson Jr. and Eunice McDaniels, both of Slidell, La.

He attended St. Tammany Parish Schools.

Survivors are his parents; his brother, Courtney McDaniels, ofDetroit, Mich., and his stepbrothers, Brandon and Joseph Robinson,both of Slidell; his stepsisters, LaTasha, Sandra and JessicaRobinson, both of Slidell.

Lillian Theola Shocklee Roberts

Services for Lillian Theola Shocklee Roberts, of Wesson, will beSaturday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. at Sylvarena Baptist Church in Wessonwith burial in the church cemetery. Harrigill Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday from noonuntil 2 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Roberts, 91, died Nov. 16, 2007, at her home. She was bornFeb. 11, 1916, to David Uvell and Martha LoDeemie Teel Shocklee.She was a faithful, devoted member of Sylvarena Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 62 years, Willie MillerRoberts; her son, Carl Willie Roberts Sr.; her grandson, KevinArlen Roberts; her brothers, Uvell and Versell Shocklee; hersister, Lucy Philpot; her foster parents, Frank and Martha Myers;and her foster brother, Marvin Myers.

Survivors are her daughters, Sheryl Roberts Montgomery and Karen R.Roberts, of Wesson; grandchildren, Carl Willie Roberts Jr. andspouse, Freda Roberts, Deemie Montgomery Letchworth and spouse,Brian Letchworth; Courtney Roberts Hall, all of Wesson, and RhondaMontgomery Clark and spouse, Pat Clark, of Monticello;great-grandchildren, Trace Roberts, Nickolas Roberts, Tyler Hall,Taylor Roberts, Zack Clark, Jacob Clark, Anna Roberts, AshtonLetchworth, Brayden Clark and Baleigh Cothron; and sisters, LareeShocklee Johnston of Lizella, Georgia, and foster sisters, Mary AnnLee of McComb and Jane Brumfield of Tylertown.

Evelyn Ross

Services for Evelyn Ross are 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at BriarHill Baptist Church with burial in Floral Hills Cemetery inPearl.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Wright &Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street in Jackson, and will resume at10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Ross, 89, died Nov. 15, 2007, at Hospice Ministries where shehad been only a few days. She was born in Lincoln County (Norfield)to Howard and Maud Price, the oldest of nine girls.

Mrs. Ross graduated from Brookhaven High School and Copiah-LincolnJunior College. She worked for the Farmers Home Administration andlater Soil Conservation Service, from which she retired. She was amember of Briar Hill Baptist Church for over 35 years. She was acharter member of the Brandon DAR, where she remained active. Shemarried her husband, John Ross, in 1954.

Survivors are her sisters, Helen Nix, of Brookhaven, Jane Nutt, ofMadison, Jean Wright, of Weston, Texas, Grace Parnell, ofHendersonville, Tenn., Margaret Price, of Jackson and Martha Price,of Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
