Services for Hiram Britt, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m. Monday,Aug. 10, at Red Star Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home andMonday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Mr. Britt, 82, died Aug. 8, 2009, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County Oct. 25, 1926, to Nathan A. Britt and SarahFalvey Britt.

He was a retired carpenter and building inspector for FarmersHome Administration. He was a member of Red Star Ward of the Churchof Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a U.S. Army veteranthat served in World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, ArcolaBrady, Eunice Smith and Winnie V. Hurst; and his brother, EdwardBritt.

Survivors are his wife, Almarie Stevens Britt, of Brookhaven;his daughter, Anna Marie Kimble and husband, Sammy, of Brookhaven;his brother, Heber Britt, of Brookhaven; his sister, DorothyHamrick, of Brookhaven; and his grandchildren, Kelsey, Brett andJackson.

Richard O’Neal Harveston

Services for Richard O’Neal Harveston, of Brookhaven, were 11a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapelwith burial in Mission Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson.

Mr. Harveston, 76, died Aug. 6, 2009, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. He was born on Nov. 16, 1932, to John S. Harveston andMyrtis Furr Harveston.

He retired from the oil field. He served in the U.S. Army duringthe Korean conflict.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John S. Harveston andMyrtis Furr Harveston; his infant daughter, Angela Olene Harveston;his brothers, Charles Harveston and John Sexton Harveston; hissisters, Lois Fairchild, Edna Furlow, Dorothy Scoggins and MargieNevels; and a son-in-law, Ricky Bennett.

Survivors are his wife, Irene Harveston; his sons, Steve Case,Ricky Harveston and wife, Ilene, Danny Harveston and wife, Patsy,Roger Harveston and Luke Harveston; his daughters, Brenda GayBennett and Tina Russell and husband, Tim Russell; his sisters,Betty Montgomery and Joann Haynes and husband, C.A.; his ninegrandchildren, Daniel O’Neal Harveston, Brady Russell, PatrickRussell, Rachel Peterman, Aaron Bennett, Brandy Robbins, CrystalHarveston, Ashley Harveston and Clint Case; his eightgreat-grandchildren.

Services for William E. “Dusty” Peets Jr., of Wesson, are 10:30a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church withburial in Peets Family Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Serviceis in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Peets, 52, died Aug. 7, 2009, at his residence. He was bornon Nov. 21, 1956, to William E. Peets Sr. and Lewise HerringtonPeets.

He was self-employed at Peets Refrigeration. For the last fouryears, he worked with maintenance at Mississippi Baptist MedicalCenter. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi CatholicChurch.

Preceding him in death was his father, William E. Peets Sr.; andhis sister, Catherine P. Jobin.

Survivors are his wife, Jennifer F. Peets; his sons, ChristopherPeets and wife, Hollie P. Peets, and Chance Peets, all of Wesson;and his sisters, Sue Berch, of Pearl, and Lynda Posey, ofBrookhaven.

Mrs. Reynolds, 69, died Aug. 7, 2009, in Vicksburg. She was bornon Jan. 17, 1940, to Charles Wesley Wilson and Ozeale HallWilson.

Mrs. Thompson, 86, died Aug. 7, 2009, at Golden Living Center inTylertown. She was born in Warnerton, La. on Oct. 17, 1922, toJones Taylor Young and Fannie Nettles Dickerson Young.

She was known by many precious titles. She was teasingly called”Prunk” by her brothers. She graduated from Carter’s Creek Schoolas “Janice.” She married her sweetheart as “Louree.” To herchildren, she was mother, momma and mom. She became a mother-in-lawas “Momma Lou,” and was known as “Maw Maw” to her grandchildren.She was known as “Maw Maw Great” and “Great” to hergreat-grandchildren.

In her declining years, she was known as “Miss Lou” by manyfriends and loved ones. Above all of these titles, her favorite onewas to be a called a child of God. “Mom” was a faithful member ofUnion Primitive Baptist Church for more than 70 years.

After graduating from high school, she was a devoted housewifeand mother and active in PTA and church activities. Later, sheworked for F.W. Woolworth, T.G.&Y and Kellwood Co. in McComb,where she was recognized for invention. She will truly be missed byall who knew her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, CarlBenjamin Thompson; her great-grandson, Ryan Pappas; her stepmother,Fannie “Gran” Young; her siblings, Lee, Pete and G.C. Dickerson,Harold, Robert and Charles Young, Essie Summers, Wadie Howell, InaMae Guy and Willie B. Reid.
