Graveside services for Pinkie Mae Owens Simon, of Pearl formerlyof Brookhaven, are 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, at Rose Hill M.B.Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 5 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mrs. Simon, 85, died Sept. 30, 2007, at Jaquith Nursing Home inPearl. She was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 2, 1921, to BenjaminFranklin and Carrie Owens.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son; and severalsisters.

She was retired.

Survivors include a devoted granddaughter, Diane Washington andher husband, Teddyrecius Sr., of Brookhaven; a great-grandson,Teddyrecius Washington Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Mesha Byrd;two sisters, Peggy Franklin, of Atlanta, Ga., and Carolyn Hodges,of New York, N.Y.; 18 other grandchildren; and a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
