Martha Evelyn Jones

Services for Martha Evelyn Jones, of Wesson, are 2 p.m. Sunday,Nov. 2, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial inMission Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones, 72, died Oct. 31, 2008, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center. She was born on Nov. 12, 1935.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Providence BaptistChurch in Hazlehurst.

Preceding her in death were her sons, Jimmy Ray Wallace andJames Delton Wallace Jr.; and her brothers, Randolph Holcolm andThomas Holcolm.

Survivors are her husband, Alvin Jones; her daughter-in-laws,Barbara Hux and Sherry Wallace; eight grandchildren; 17great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Luther Ray Rippy Sr.

Services for Luther Ray Rippy Sr., of Crystal Springs, are 2p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NorthJackson St. with burial in Mt. Olive Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 4 until 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m.until the time of the service. Both visitations will be at thefuneral home.

Mr. Rippy, 53, died Nov. 1, 2008, at his residence. He was bornin Brookhaven on June 10, 1955, to Bob Rippy and Helen JenkinsRippy.

He was disabled. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a veteranof the U.S. Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, JimmyRippy and Roger Smith; and one sister, Sally Womack.

Survivors are his wife, Trudy Lee Ann Berger Rippy, of CrystalSprings; his daughter, Angelia Estrada, of Crystal Springs; hissons, Luther Ray Rippy Jr., of Abilene, Texas and Jonathan RayRippy, of Crystal Springs; his sisters, Shirley Kendrall and KathyThornhill; his brothers, Charles, Bobby, Billy Ray, Glenn, Donnieand Jackie Rippy; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews andcousins.

Irene Griffin Smith

Services for Irene Griffin Smith, of McCall Creek, are 2 p.m.Sunday, Nov. 2, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on Natchez Drivewith burial in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith, 79, died Oct. 31, 2008, at her residence. She wasborn in Franklin County on June 26, 1929, to Charlie Griffin andMary Ratcliff Griffin.

She was a member of Mary Springs Church of God of Prophecy.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Willie RaySmith; her brothers, Curtis, Forrest, Bluford, Howard and Givens”Doc” Griffin; her sisters, Arlona Freeman and Hazel Griffin; andher grandson, Derrick Havard.

Survivors are her daughters, Patsy Fauver and husband, Toby, ofBrookhaven, Betty Cupit and husband, Johnny, of Liberty, AngieHavard and husband, Terry, of McCall Creek, Vivian Martin andhusband, Rickey, of Pearl, and Renae Buckels and husband, Joey, ofMeadville; her brother, D.C. Griffin, of McCall Creek; sevengrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Artie Mae Thomas

Services for Artie Mae Thomas, of McCall Creek, are 2 p.m.Sunday, Nov. 2, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Caseyvillewith burial in the church cemetery. Marshall Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

Mrs. Thomas, 86, died Oct. 26, 2008, at Franklin MemorialHospital in Meadville. She was born in Eddiceton on Aug. 20, 1922,to Louis Keys and Rachel Louise Davis Keys.

Preceding her in death were her husband, L. F. Thomas; herparents; her sisters, Helen and Bertha Keys; and a son-in-law.

Survivors are her daughters, Murkule Marie Johnson, of Quentin,Irene Bryant, of Brookhaven, and Irma Jean Johnson, of Chicago,Ill.; two granddaughters; two grandsons; and many nieces, nephews,other relatives and friends.
