Services for Virgie King Smith of Bogue Chitto are 2 p.m.,Tuesday, June 17, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inGum Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-10 p.m., at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mrs. Smith, 91, died June 15, 2003, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on Nov. 11, 1911, to Hillary H. King andDora Terrell King.

She was retired from Bogue Chitto School Cafeteria. She was amember of Johnson Grove Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Fred B.Smith; eight brothers, Willie Smith, Dock Smith, Martin Smith,Horace Smith, Floyd Smith, Hugh Smith, Enoch Smith and SeymourSmith; and a sister, Lottie Smith.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Alton K. and MarieSmith of Bogue Chitto; her daughter, Maxine Porter of Bogue Chitto;her brother, Curtis King of Bogue Chitto; her sisters-in-law,Pauline King of Bogue Chitto, and Hazel King of Brookhaven; hergrandsons and their spouses, Fred and Becky Porter of Slidell, La.,Mark and Michelle Porter, John Anthony “Tony” “Teddy” Porter, andKelly and Beverly Porter, all of Bogue Chitto; and hergreat-grandchildren, Amanda and Ashley Porter of Slidell, andKensey Porter of Bogue Chitto.
