Four Co-Lin baseballers named All-Region 23 23

WESSON – Four Copiah-Lincoln Community College baseball playershave been selected to the NJCAA All-Region 23 Team. ShortstopPatrick Williams of Crystal Springs received First Team honors.Co-Lin members of the Second Team are second baseman Jody Britt andright fielder Xavier Qualls, both of Brookhaven, and pitcher RyanBelanger of Houma, La.

Williams, a Delta State signee, led Co-Lin with a .373 battingaverage, 12 home runs, 51 RBIs, and a .684 slugging percentage. Hetied for first in doubles (15) and tied for second on the team intriples (3).

Britt, a Loyd Star product and Mississippi College signee, hit.348 with 5 home runs and 43 RBIs. He tied for first, along withWilliams in doubles (15) and tied for second on the team in triples(3).

Qualls, a Brookhaven High School product, hit .342 in his firstyear with the Wolfpack. He had 2 home runs and 36 RBIs and wassecond on the team in stolen bases with 21.

Belanger (7-8), a University of Southern Mississippi signee, hadan ERA of 2.36 and set a Co-Lin single season record for strikeouts(134) by a pitcher. He made 19 appearances, pitching 11 completegames.

Coach Keith Case’s Wolfpack (32-28-1) finished fourth in theNJCAA Division II World Series at Millington, Tenn. They won theNJCAA Southeast Super Regional Championship at St. Catharine, Ky.and the NJCAA Region 23 South Division Championship atPoplarville.
