Funeral services for Irma Lee Lofton Smith,of Brookhaven, were 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at HillcrestChurch of Christ with burial in Hillcrest Church of ChristCemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

    Mrs. Smith, 88, died Sept. 17, 2011, at Franklin County MemorialHospital. She was born in Mississippi on April 29, 1923, to HiramLofton and Mary Smith Lofton.

    She attended Loyd Star and Copiah-Lincoln Community College, andwas a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. She was ahomemaker and a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ.

    Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Sam Smith;daughter, Janet Furr; infant son; brothers, Jay Russell and John;and sister, Martha Pearl Lofton.

    Survivors are her daughter, Mary Pannell and husband, James;son-in-law, Mike Furr and wife, Ginny; a dear friend andsister-in-law, Juanita Smith; four grandchildren, Todd Furr andwife, Tiffany, Kelly Stewart and husband, Brandon, Rusty Pannelland wife, Kara, and Alice Pannell King; 10 great-grandchildren; andmany nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members andfriends.
