Thanksgiving closing list

In observance of Thanksgiving, all the area county and city offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28, 2014.

The Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce and Mississippi Highway Patrol will also be closed on Thursday and Friday.

All Brookhaven schools, Brookhaven Academy, Mississippi School of the Arts, Copiah County schools, Franklin County schools, Lawrence County schools and Copiah-Lincoln Community College will be closed all week, from Monday, Nov. 24 through Friday, Nov. 28. Lincoln County schools will be closed from Wednesday, Nov. 26 through Friday, Nov. 28. All schools will resume operation Monday, Dec. 1.

Waste Pro will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and will continue normal service for Thursday customers on Monday, Dec. 1. This is for the city of Brookhaven. Lincoln County residents will be serviced on Saturday, Nov. 29 in order to accommodate the scheduled time off.

The U.S. Post Office main office will close early at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26; its West Brookhaven office will close at 2 p.m. the same day. Both offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and will resume normal operational hours Friday, Nov. 28, 2014.

The Daily Leader will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, but there will be a paper delivered Thursday morning.
