Local church to hold music program

The New Hebron United Methodist Church will hold it’s fourth annual Christmas Reflections Program Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s area talents will include Becky Yarbrough and Debbie Bush of New Hebron UMC, Dwight Chance of Bethany Baptist Church, Prentiss and The Ambassador Singers of Co-Lin, under the direction of Denise Riley and Steve Russell on piano.

“It’s not a church service, and it’s not a Christmas cantata,” Kathy Roberts, music director for New Hebron UMC, said. “It’s one hour in the season you can sit in a dimly lit room and listen to nice music by talented people.”

The event is sponsored by United Methodist Women a national subsection of the United Methodist Church. Roberts said it’s a place for the community and people to come together and reflect on each other, the community or just simply reflect.

Roberts said this event promises to be yet, another beautiful candlelit night of secular and sacred Christmas music to kick off the holiday season. Refreshments will be served immediately following.

“We all pull together and work. It’s one of the ways we give back to the community,” Roberts said.
