Sheriff’s office seeks suspects in robbery of store at gunpoint
Editor’s Note: A Daily Leader reader messaged us on Facebook: “I live close to the Dollar General on Highway 84 West. I would like to know why the store robbery has not been reported in the paper? This happened Friday night at closing, thanks!” Since this was the first we had heard about the robbery, we checked into it for the following story.
Law enforcement officers continue to seek two suspects in connection with armed robbery of the Dollar General on Highway 84 West Friday, Aug 22.
Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said his office received a call at 9:35 p.m. Friday from the Dollar General reporting the robbery.
He said two black males with hats and bandanas covering their faces arrived through the front door of the store just before closing.
One of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money, Rushing said. The two men took an undisclosed amount from the cash register and safe before exiting the store through the back.
Rushing said deputies do not have the suspects’ vehicle description, and the incident is still under investigation.
