Carver named advertising coordinator of The Daily Leader

Kristi Carver has been named The Daily Leader’s new advertising coordinator, announced Otis Raybon, Daily Leader publisher.

Carver, who has extensive experience in the area advertising market, joined The Daily Leader in July 2013 as an advertising representative. In her new position, she will be coordinating the newspaper’s advertising department, which also includes advertising representatives Sherri Mathis and Tracy McGuffee.

“Kristi is very experienced in the area of sales in Brookhaven and Lincoln County,” said Raybon. “She’s knowledgeable and knows so many business people in the area, and we’re glad to have her in this role at The Daily Leader.”

A native of Monticello, Carver has lived in Brookhaven since 2000.

Prior to joining The Daily Leader, she worked as an account executive in advertising sales for Eat Drink Mississippi Magazine. She previously worked in advertising sales for Backyard Broadcasting in Jackson and for Bluffs & Bayous Magazine in Natchez. She also has worked at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb.

Carver is a graduate of Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit. She is an associate member of the Junior Auxiliary of Brookhaven, has been a member of The Brookhaven Trust for the Arts and Preservation and is a member of the Alexander Junior High and Martin Elementary PTAs.

Carver said she is excited about her new role at the newspaper. “It’s good to be back in the local market, and I think there are a lot of opportunities here. The potential for growth is one of the main things I see,” she said.

“In every decision at The Daily Leader, we are always thinking of the advertisers and the subscribers,” Raybon said, “and Kristi’s new responsibilities are key to that process.”
