Lipsey Peewee: Navy beats White/Navy

Defense was the name of the game for Tuesday night Lipsey Peewee football action at King Field. The Navy team stopped the White/Navy team on the one-yard line as time expired to prevail 12-6 in the opener. The White/Red team edged the Red team 7-6 in the finale.

League action continues Tuesday at King Field as the Red team battles the Navy team at 6 p.m. and the White/Red team take on the White/Navy team at 7 p.m.

Navy 12, White/Navy 6 

The Navy Team stopped the White/Navy team on the one-yard line on the final play of the game as the time expired Tuesday as the Navy Team escaped with a 12-6 win.

Manny Miller led his Navy team (2-0) with a 53-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Cole. Jeremiah Hargo also scored a touchdown on a four-yard run.

Defensively, Piker Wallace, Ian Gatlin and Miller intercepted a pass each.

For the White/Navy team, Kermit Sartin Jr. led his teammates with a 55-yard touchdown pass to Denuntay Nelson.

Defensively, Angel Wilkerson helped her team by intercepting a pass. Omarion Brice recovered a fumble.

White/Red 7, Red 6

Jordan Baker was the offensive leader for the White/Red team with a six-yard rushing touchdown. Will Loy ran in the three-yard extra point.

Defensively, Jake Meilstrup led the White/Red team with an interception. Tanner Stokes recovered a fumble.

For the Red team, Cortez Hunt scored on a 21-yard rushing touchdown.

Damon Blandon directed his team defense with a fumble recovery.
