N. Pike nips Brookhaven

SUMMIT -North Pike pulled out a 12-11 Tuesday night softballthriller over the Brookhaven Lady Panthers. Brookhaven finishedwith 14 hits in the season opener.
Directing the Lady Panthers was Juliana Wallace with a homer, atriple and a single. Two singles were collected by Devine Porter,Kayla Allen, Mandy Jones and Holly Bateman. Erica Wallace doubled.Angela DeLaughter and Erin Lyons singled.
North Pike got 2 hits from M.J. Moak, Sonya Freeman, Erin Boydand Brandy Hamilton.
In the JV game, North Pike prevailed 14-13. Home runs byKristina Wallace and Shameka Gilmore led Brookhaven in batting.Samantha Boutwell tripled and singled. Taylor Crane and MeganBateman had 2 hits. Chiquita Rancifer, Renata Allen and AllysonWallace singled.
Brookhaven, coached by Lisa Covington, resumes playThursday at Pearl, starting at 5 p.m. with the JVgame.
