Mrs. Delaughter, 95, died Feb. 19, 2001, at Pine Crest NursingHome. She was born in Rankin County on May 19, 1905, to Abram Clineand Rosie McDonald Cline.

She was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her sons, A. J. Minton of Wesson and Rowan MintonJr. of Oregon; her daughters, Ada Ree McCall of Conway, Ark., andRosa Lee Clotz of Illinois; and numerous grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cater, 65, died Feb. 19, 2001, at Natchez RegionalHospital. She was born in Franklin County on Sept. 11, 1935, toErnest Arnold and Pernie Freeman Arnold.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and five brothers andtwo sisters.

Survivors are her husband, James Cater of Natchez; her sons,Carroll Cater of Natchez and Pee Wee Arnold of Bude; her daughter,Cynthia Woodyear of Roxie; her brothers, Roger Dale Arnold ofLiberty, Rodney Arnold of Meadville, and B. J. Arnold of Knoxville;her sister, Pauline Thornton of Meadville; and five grandchildrenand three great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Hillcrest Church ofChrist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her brothers,Alter, Alvie, Leroy and Lamar Smith.

Survivors are her husband, Ernest Montgomery of Brookhaven; herdaughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Claude Bennett Smith ofBrookhaven; her brother, J. H. Smith of Brookhaven; her sister,Aylean Higdon of Hazlehurst; her grandchildren, Scott Smith ofClinton and Steve Smith of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and twogreat-grandchildren, Riley and Laura Smith.

William Sherman Rutter Jr.

Services for William Sherman Rutter Jr. of Brookhaven were 2p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Rosehill Cemetery.

Mr. Rutter, 86, died Feb. 15, 2001, at St. Dominic’s MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 13, 1914, toWilliam Sherman Rutter Sr. and Eva Buchanan Rutter.

He was a retired superintendent for Foster Wheeler Energy Corp.He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Charles B.Rutter; his half-brother, Emerson Rutter; and his half-sisters,Lorine McIntoch and Kathlene Kees.

Survivors are his wife, Doris Tyler Rutter of Brookhaven; hisson, William Sherman Rutter III of Brookhaven; his daughter andson-in-law, Rachel Rebecca Manning and Richard Austin Manning ofWestfield, N.J.; his brother, Hollis B. Rutter of Brookhaven; hissisters, Waldaryn Busby and Helen Curtis, both of Laurel; hisgrandchildren, Ramona Lemus of Estes Park, Colo., and Doris AnnManning and Elizabeth Manning, both of Westfield, N.J.; and hisstepgranddaughter, Robin Blaisdell of Westminster, Colo.

Lonzo Lavern Thomas

Services for Lonzo Lavern Thomas of Ruth are 1 p.m., Wednesday,Feb. 21, at Union Baptist Church in East Lincoln with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-10 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m.until service time at the church.

Mr. Thomas, 15, died Feb. 18, 2001, at University Medical Centerfrom injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Pike County.He was born in McComb on May 7, 1985, to Willie Thomas Jr. ofMcComb and Cheryl Eaton Thomas of Ruth.

He was an eighth grade student at North Pike Middle School. Hewas of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Monroe Thomas Sr.,Marie Givens Thomas, and Marilyn Eaton; and his great-grandfather,Paul Terwilliger.

In addition to his parents; he is survived by his brothers,Chris Little and Will Thomas III, both of Ruth; his sisters,Marilyn Williams of Summit and Susie Thomas of McComb; hisgrandparents, Robert and Naida Eaton of Brookhaven; hisgreat-grandmother, Bernice Terwilliger of Bernetta, Fla.; andnumerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Verneil Tyler

Services for Verneil Tyler of Sontag are 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb.22, at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from noon until 5 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mr. Tyler, 66, died Feb. 15, 2001, at his residence. He was bornin Sontag on July 24, 1934, to Hurley Tyler and Pauline CollinsTyler.

He was a retired logger. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant M. B.Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two sons.

Survivors are his wife, Rosie Lee Tyler; his daughters, JeanetteTyler, Mary Tyler, and Barbara Tyler, all of Sontag; his sisters,Lynell Haynes and Maybelle Tyler, both of Sontag; his brother,Alexander Tyler of Sontag; and four grandchildren.
