Coley, Cutrer, Zumbro on all-star baseball team

Catchers Chase Coley of Loyd Star and Nathan Cutrer of BogueChitto have been selected to play in this summer’s Class 1A-2A-3AHigh School All-Star Baseball Game, on Saturday, June 9, at PeteTaylor Park on the University of Southern Mississippi campus. MikeHodges of Bogue Chitto and Mark Fanning of St. Andrew’s will coachthe South squad.
Other all-stars from this area include pitcher/infielder ColeZumbro of Franklin County and outfielder Michael Clements andpitcher Buddy Van Norman of North Pike.
Also named to the South team were Jake Nester and Craig Martinof Lake, Mark David Howard and Buddy Pellegrino of Biloxi MercyCross, Michael Pilgrim of Morton, Chris Stewart of Purvis, ChaySimmons of St. Aloysius, Jason Graham of West Marion, ToddDoolittle and Brad McKee of West Lauderdale and Jim Henegan,Sherwood Colette and Jeff Tomlinson of St. Andrew’s.
Selected as alternates were Johnathon Cutrer of Bogue Chitto andJared Harris of Poplarville.
The players report June 7 for practice at Southern Miss. TheClass 1A-2A-3A showcase will be played at 5 p.m., followed by theClass 4A-5A game at 7:30.
