Services for Doris Jean Rodgers of Roxie are 11 a.m., Saturday,June 23, at Mt. Olive M. B. Church in Kirby with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is today from noon through the wake service, which is5-7 p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rodgers, 46, died June 18, 2001, at her residence. She wasborn in Franklin County on July 31, 1954, to Wardell Carradine andCerlone Weathersby Carradine.

She was a medical aide for Home Health. She was a member ofDouglas Chapel Baptist Church in Crosby.

Preceding her in death were her father; her brother, JamesCarradine; and her sister, Ella Mae Chaney.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, EddieRodgers of Roxie; her son, Kevin Brown of Roxie; her daughter,Josalyn Sanders of Roxie; her brothers, Charles Carradine of Roxie,Curtis Carradine of Baltimore, Md., and August Washington andAnthony Burkes, both of Meadville; her sisters, Florease Laird ofRoxie, Inez Statem of Las Vegas, Nev., Essie Burton of Monroe, La.,Augustine Chaney of Leesville, La., and Mary Middleton and WilletteMiddleton, both of Fayetteville, N.C.; and three grandchildren anda host of nieces and nephews.
