Services for Hardy M. Britt of Bogue Chitto are 2 p.m.,Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inArlington Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from noon until service time at the funeralhome.

Mr. Britt, 76, died July 30, 2001, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 27, 1924, to HardyBeck Britt and Annie Mae Smith Britt.

He was retired as a self-employed mechanic and the owner andoperator of Britt’s Garage and Inspection Shop in Bogue Chitto formany years. He was a member of Arlington Baptist Church. He was anArmy veteran of WWII and received the Purple Heart.

Preceding him in death were his parents and an infantsister.

Survivors are his wife, Hazel Mae Sasser Britt of Bogue Chitto;his sisters, Olene Sabbatini of Leland and Joyce Britt ofStarkville; his stepsisters, Marie Morlino of Leland and BettyWomble of Indianola; and numerous nieces and nephews.
