BA girls whip Tensas

NATCHEZ – The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars put away Tensas,La., for a 73-42 win first place Thursday night in the Adams CountyChristian School Girls Tipoff Tournament.
‘I am glad for both for both teams to be 3-0 and both winners,”said Brookhaven Academy girls head coach Barry Gray. “The highschool played a solid second half.”
Powering Brookhaven Academy with 12 points, three rebounds andfive assists was Kelli Byrd. Anna Gatlin scored 11 points andpulled down five rebounds. Ancy Myers followed with 10 points andfive rebounds. Tops off the backboards with eight rebounds wasLauren Smith who also had six assists.
Leading Tensas with 17 points was Lindsay Hendrix.
Junior High Action
The 3-0 Brookhaven Academy girls knocked off Tensas 49-28 forfirst place in the junior high game.
High scorer for the Lady Cougars was Emily Langley with 35points. Langley also collected 11 rebounds and made sevensteals.
Tabitha Howard netted eight points for Tensas.
