Services for Joan Dianne Smith of Baton Rouge are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with a privatefamily graveside service in the church cemetery.

Miss Smith, 57, died Jan. 31, 2002, of cancer at her home. Shewas born in Brookhaven on Oct. 13, 1944, to Leon “Totsy” and HelenSmith. She was a business administrative graduate of LSU in1966.

She was a retired senior steno with Entergy/Gulf StatesUtilities.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a great nephew.

Survivors are her sister, Nelda Smith Hall of Baton Rouge; herniece, Jeanine Green of Baton Rouge; her nephew, David Calvin Hallof Brookhaven; her friend, Ron Hatcher; great nieces and nephew;and her cat, Julie-Anne.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
