Services for Sarah Jane Coleman of Brookhaven are noon Tuesday,Feb. 26, at New Hope M.B. Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Monday, Feb. 25, from noon to the wake service,which is from 6-7 p.m. at R.E. Tyler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Coleman, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at herresidence. She was born in Copiah County on March 4, 1914, toAnderson Reed and Florianna Freeman.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Hope M.B. Church,where she served in the choir, on the Mission’s and Mother’s boardsand taught Sunday School.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, JohnnyColeman; son, Ira Coleman; brothers, Charles Winston and WillieWinston; and sisters, Katty Dickey, Syrintha Littleton, LizzieThompson, Ella Winston and Louanna Tillman.

Survivors are her daughter, Anna Lee Sterling of Brookhaven;grandchildren, Phyllis Watkins, Victor Sterling Jr., the Rev.Phillip Sterling and Donald Sterling, all of Brookhaven, SarahAnnell Willis of Las Vegas and Ernest Demond Sterling ofBrookhaven; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces andnephews. The family honors the children of the late Henry NewmanSr. and Lula Mae Newman as a part of her family.
