Lady Panthers sink N. Pike

SUMMIT – The Brookhaven Lady Panthers handed the North Pike LadyJaguars a 10-0 beating Monday night in girls slowpitch softballplay. Mandy Vinson (9-4, 7-0) was the winning pitcher.

Powering the Lady Panthers with a double and a single wasJaRonda Moore. Doubling were Megan Bateman, Allyson Wallace andKensy Hoff. Chuvaquah Smith, Vinson, Brittany Smith and CortneyFielder singled.

North Pike (9-3) got a single from Karen Adams and DanielleRawls. Dickerson absorbed the loss.

“Brookhaven came ready to play,” said North Pike girls headcoach Sonya Wallace. “They made some great defensive plays and theyhit the ball well. It’s hard to win a slowpitch game with 2 hitsand 9 defensive errors.”

In the junior varsity game, Brittany Smith tripled for theBrookhaven girls. Kayla Prince, Lauren Smith, Danecca Diggs andPortia Dickey hit safely.

The Lady Jags (3-3) were led by Erin Mitzenberg’s two singles.Kayla Stockton, Kari Bessonette and Catherine West singled.Stockton suffered the loss.
