Services for Lewis L. “Bud” Simmons of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burialin Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery. Services will be conductedby the Rev. Thurston Brice of Baton Rouge, La., and Bro. KentCothern. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5-9 p.m., at Pleasant Grove BaptistChurch.

Mr. Simmons, 77, died Sept. 21, 2003, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born in Moss Point on Dec. 21, 1925, toAlbert Monroe Simmons and Nettie Lenora Blades Simmons.

He worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and wasretired from CIT Financial Corporation and from Bank One, where heserved as senior vice president. He attended University of SouthernMississippi and graduated from Mississippi College with a degree inbusiness. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was amember of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he served as aSunday school teacher.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, David CharlesSimmons; a sister, Audrey Simmons; and a grandson, Joseph AllenMartin.

Survivors are his wife, Audrey Simmons of Brookhaven; hisstepmother, Faye Lynn Simmons of Grand Bay, Ala.; his daughter andson-in-law, Leah Melinda and Dan Martin of Brookhaven; his sistersand brothers-in-law, Betty Jean and Joe Gardner of McLean, Va., andFayla and Boyd Beckham of Grand Bay; his brothers andsisters-in-law, Albert Mack and Vivian Simmons of Moss Point,Charles Dale and Trudy Simmons of McLean; his grandsons, Josh LeeMartin and wife, Amber D. Martin, and Jacob Paul Martin, all ofBrookhaven; his granddaughter, Jessi Danielle Martin of Brookhaven;and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Randy Pepper, Josh Lee Martin, Jacob PaulMartin, Chris Martin, Rickey P. Smith and Gus Shelby. Honorarypallbearers will be the Young Men’s Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church BuildingFund or Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Youth Fund.
