Services for Lucy “Lady Girl” Harris of Brookhaven are 1:30p.m., Sunday, Oct. 12, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church withburial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from noon – 6 p.m., at WilliamsMortuary.

Mrs. Harris, 100, died Oct. 8, 2003, at Haven Hall Nursing Home.She was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 29, 1903, to Wallace Harrisand Lucy Harris.

She was retired, and was a member of Friendship MissionaryBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were parents; her daughter, RobertaSmith; her son, Robert Butler; her sisters, Niecee Jackson, MamieColeman and Luella Black; her brothers, Herman Harris, the Rev.Versie Harris, Russell Harris and Archie Harris; and hergrandchildren, William Herbert “Jay” Smith and Alleen Smith.

Survivors are her grandchildren, Evelyn Smith of Brookhaven,James Earl Smith of Hudson, N.Y., Julius Pearl Smith of Beacon,N.Y., Prentiss Smith of Chicago, Ill., Bennie Lee Smith of Slidell,La., Helen Givens of Monroe, La., and Dorothy Brown, Kaye FrancesButler, Shirley Butler and Robert Butler Jr., all of Detroit,Mich.; 34 great-grandchildren; and 31great-great-grandchildren.
