Services for Carruth S. Miller of Franklinton, La. were 4 p.m.,Feb. 4, at Crain Funeral Home Chapel with burial in EllisCemetery.

Mr. Miller, 82, died Feb. 2, 2004, at St. Tammany Hospital inCovington, La.

He was a retired Chief of Police for the town of Franklinton,with 19 years service. He was a World War II Army veteran, and arecipient of the Purple Heart. He served as Justice of the Peacefor Ward 3, and was a retired dairyman. He was a member ofFranklinton Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Jimmy Miller and IvyMorris Miller Davis; his wife, Junie Belle Leggett Miller; a son,Denver W. Miller; a sister, Blanche Holiday; and a brother, Jack H.Miller.

Survivors are his daughters, Louise Dill of Covington, La.,Lucille Ashby of Louisville, Ky.; Lynelle McClathy of Oakland,Ore., and Shirley Ruth Barnes of Salem, Ohio; his son, David C.Miller of Mt. Hermon, La.; his sister, Norma Heide of Cocoa Beach,Fla.; his brothers, James William Miller of Ponchatoula, La., andNelson Miller of Wesson; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren;and a number of nieces and nephews.
