Services for William R. “Hank” Ahrend of Pattison are 11 a.m.,Saturday, March 6, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with gravesideservices at 1 p.m. in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Union Church inJefferson County.

Visitation is Friday from 5-9 p.m., and Saturday from 9-11 a.m.,at the funeral home.

Mr. Ahrend, 59, died March 3, 2004, at University Medical Centerin Jackson of injuries sustained at his employment, Cooper Lightingin Vicksburg.

He recently completed 40 years service with Cooper Lighting(formerly Westinghouse). He was a veteran of the United States Armyand served in Vietnam from March 1969 until March 1970. He was alifelong resident of the Pleasant Hill community in CopiahCounty.

Preceding him in death were his wife Betty F. Graham in February2002; his parents, John and Leona Ahrend of Union Church; and hisbrother, Shirley Ahrend.

Survivors are his daughter, Aimee Ahrend of Hazlehurst; hisstepdaughter, Kim Palmer and her husband Med of Hazlehurst; hisstepson, Kenny Moody of Jackson; his three stepgrandchildren,Samatha, Elizabeth and Kathlyn Meece of Hazlehurst; his brothers,James Ahrend and his wife Wilma of Vicksburg, Ed Ahrend and hiswife Jimmie of Brookhaven, and Tom Ahrend of Pearl; his sister,Louise Hearnsberger and her husband Jimmy of Warren, Ark.; his auntEdna Cupit and her husband Thomas of Tupelo; his uncle, FrancisVarnado and his wife Loletta of Bogue Chitto; his nephews, Freddyand Randy Ahrend of Flowood, and Anthony Hearnsberger of Warren,Ark.; his nieces, Brenda Cranfield and her husband Tom ofVicksburg, Tammy Elliott and her husband Mark of Richland, Wa., KimOliver and her husband Spence of Purvis, and Cindy Hearnsberger ofWarren, Ark.; his great nephews, Matthew, Tyler and JosephCranfield of Vicksburg; his great nieces, Hannah Cranfield ofVicksburg, and Madelyn Oliver of Purvis; his father andmother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Graham of Pattison, and hissister-in-law and her husband Jimmy, and their daughter Holly ofPattison.
