Co-Lin, Delgado split

WESSON — The Co-Lin Wolves split a baseball doubleheader withthe Delgado (La.) Dolphins Sunday at Sullivan Field.

Co-Lin (18-8, 2-0) came back to capture the finale 6-5. Delgado(21-11) won the opener 6-1.

“We played a lot better in the day,” said Co-Lin head baseballcoach Keith Case. “We hit the ball a lot better. The guys came backand played with more enthusiasm.”

Co-Lin 6, Delgado 5

Ryan Belanger was the winning pitcher (4-1) working the fifthand sixth innings with one strikeout and one walk. Starter BoyceeBarnes worked the first three innings with four strikeouts, threewalks and four runs allowed on five hits. Matthew Fox worked thefourth inning. Getting the save in the seventh was Cole Zumbro.

Keenan LeBlanc 90-1) was the losing pitcher. Following LeBlancwere Brent Rowell in the second inning and Paul Labiche in thefourth.

Zumbro powered the Wolves with a triple and a single. Jody Brittdoubled. Jeffrey Waycaster and Aaron Gullot ripped two singlesapiece. Singling were Keeyon Sanders and Patrick Williams

Delgado got a triple and a single from Matt Rogers. MarcBurmaster doubled. Singling were Bryson Le Blanc, Gary Duhe, StevenWaguespack and Nolan Gisclair.

Delgado 6, Co-Lin 1

In the first game, Zumbro powered the Wolves at the plate with asolo home run in the fifth inning. Doubling was Deigo Nucete. CaseyGinn singled.

Colby Beach (2-4) absorbed the loss in six innings, allowing sixruns on six hits, one strikeout and three walks. Working theseventh inning was Casey Deason with two walks.

Co-Lin travels to Pearl River Wednesday for a big South Divisiondoubleheader. The first game begin s at 4 p.m.
