The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors should be commended fortheir vote Monday to support up to $2.2 million in bonds for thepurchase of a new industrial park.

Land for the park, known as Site B, includes 450 acres of 16thsection land at the end of the Brookway Boulevard. The city ofBrookhaven had already passed a similar resolution for the project, which totals $4.8 million. An additional $500,000 will be providedby the Industrial Development Foundation.

Although the supervisors passed the bond resolution unanimously, some of them still expressed concern that future tax revenue couldnot be shared by both the Lincoln County School District and theBrookhaven School District. Under Mississippi law, the city schoolswill receive the full portion of tax revenues because the site isin that school district.
