William Claude Covington

Services for William Claude Covington of Brookhaven are 10 a.m.Friday, Oct. 22, at Community Funeral Services Chapel with burialin Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Covington, 62, died Oct. 20, 2004, at King’s Daughter’sMedical Center. He was born in Brookhaven on March 31, 1942, toWilliam E. Covington and Etta M. Delaughter.

He was retired from Wal-Mart.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Brenda Covington of Brookhaven; his son,Gregg Covington of Brookhaven; his stepdaughter, Chastity Cooper ofBrookhaven; his stepson, Joey Avants of Bogue Chitto; his brothers,Steve Ray Covington of Utica, and David Earl Covington of McCallCreek; his four grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.

Michael Dewayne Gatlin

Services for Michael Dewayne Gatlin of Milwaukee, Wisc., are2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Siloam M.B. Church with burial inthe church cemetery.

Visitation is today from noon until 5 p.m. at R.E. Tyler FuneralHome.

Mr. Gatlin, 38, died Oct. 16, 2004, at Vanner Desert Hospital inMesa, Ariz. He was born in Milwaukee on Nov. 4, 1965, to DavidEvans and Geanine McGee Gatlin of Litchfield Park, Ariz.

He was a machine operator.

Margaret Mary ‘Peggy’ Hughes

Private memorial graveside services for Margaret Mary “Peggy”Hughes of McComb are 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at HollywoodCemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hughes, died Oct. 15, 2004, at Beacham Memorial Hospital inMagnolia. She was a native of New Ross County, Wexford,Ireland.

She was a certified nurses aid having done private sitting formany years. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church inMcComb since 1957. She came to the United States in 1957 with herhusband, Charles John Hughes, who died in 1990.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Michael Furlong andBridget Mary Roach Furlong, both of Wexford; her husband; onebrother, Seamus Furlong of Ireland; and one sister, Babs Blackmonof Australia.

Survivors are her sister, Philomena Furlong of Ireland; andseveral nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Edna Mae James Kinchloe

Graveside services for Edna Mae James Kinchloe of Brookhaven are4 p.m. today, Oct. 22, at Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 1-4 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mrs. Kinchloe, 84, died Oct. 20, 2004, at Beverly Health Care.She was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 12, 1920, to Med D. James andSallie Mae Strahan James.

She attended college at Southwest in Hammond, La., and wasretired from Stahl Urban, where she worked for 25 years aspersonnel manager. She was also a volunteer worker for King’sDaughters Hospital and a member of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Kinchloe loved to travel and toured most of the UnitedStates and Europe.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Harvey”Butch” Kinchloe.

Survivors are her daughter, Marti Parker of Brookhaven; hergranddaughters, Tami Parker of Byram, Terri Parker of Brookhaven,and Ashley Parker Fontaine and her husband, Ryan, of Jackson; and aniece, Nona Tillman of Winona.

Albert David Oakman Sr.

Visitation for Albert David Oakman Sr. of Bogue Chitto aretoday, Oct. 22 from 5-9 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home. Noservices are planned.

Mr. Oakman, 61, died Oct. 20, 2004, in Bogue Chitto. He was bornin New Orleans, La., on Sept. 30, 1943, to Jules Joseph Oakman andAmelia Josephine Ingulia Oakman.

He was a retired truck driver and a member of Gum Grove BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and two brothers, JulesOakman and Robert Oakman.

Survivors are his wife, Ruby Fairchild Oakman of Bogue Chitto;his daughters, Shelia Steckler of Brookhaven, Juanita Weaver ofSummit, and Kelly Wise, Ginger Brown and Angie Matte, all of BogueChitto; his son, David Oakman of Laurel; his sisters, JuliaRodriquez, Elaine Mogaha and Patricia Oakman, all of New Orleans;his brothers, Raymond Oakman of Austin, Texas, and Julius Oakman ofNew Orleans; his ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Regina Trunner

Services for Regina Trunner of Detroit, Mich., are 2 p.m.Saturday, Oct. 23, at St. Paul M.B. Church with burial in New HopeCemetery.

Visitation is today from noon until 4 p.m. at Marshall FuneralHome in Brookhaven and from 7-8 p.m. at the church. Saturdayvisitation will be from 12-2 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Trunner, 39, died Oct. 11, 2004, in Detroit. She was bornin Brookhaven on June 17, 1965, to Cornelius Trunner Sr. andDoretha Trunner of Brookhaven.

She was a certified nursing assistant.

Preceding her in death were her father; and a brother, CorneliusTrunner Jr.

Survivors are her mother; her three sisters, Mary Trunner, TonyaPlunkett and Shalesia Turner, all of Brookhaven; one brother, JohnTrunner; three nephews; two nieces; and a host of relatives andfriends. Oliver of Union Church, Shirley Smith of Jackson, andDeloris Ballard of Ridgeland; his brothers, Bobby Alsworth ofFayette, David Alsworth Jr. of Union Church, and the Rev. EddieAlsworth of Brookhaven; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rebecca Louise Lofton Wilson

Services for Rebecca Louise Lofton Wilson of McCall Creek are 2p.m. today, Oct. 22, at Ramah Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Wilson, 56, died Oct. 20, 2004, at Franklin County MemorialHospital in Meadville. She was born in Brookhaven on April 12,1948, to Sherrell Lofton and Mazie Smith Lofton of Brookhaven.

She was a homemaker and a member of Ramah Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her father; and a nephew, JasperRyan Steele.

Survivors are her mother; her husband, Kenneth Wilson of McCallCreek; her sons, Jeffrey Wilson of McCall Creek, and ChristopherWilson of Meadville; her sisters, Sandra Sue Lofton of Smithdale,and Tina Renee Steele of Brookhaven; and five grandchildren.
