Services for Elmer Harrison Johnson, of Bogue Chitto, are 10a.m. Thursday, June 23 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Easthaven Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson, 85, died June 20, 2005, at Silver Cross NursingHome. He was born in Bogue Chitto on Jan. 23, 1920, to Rufus D.Johnston and Mary Laird Johnston.
He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. He served inthe Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member ofJohnson Grove Church of Christ.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Dorothy WelchJohnson; his sisters, Myrtle Oliver, Mae Wallace, Velma Smith andElsie Brown; and his brother, Clarence Johnston.
Survivors are his sons, Elmer Randall Johnson and his wife,Mary, of Natchez, and Douglas Wayne Johnson and his wife, Donna, ofNatchez; his grandchildren, Doug Johnson and his wife, Shannon,David Johnson and his wife, Rhonda, Sarah Johnson, Lacie Johnsonand Phillip Johnson; his great-grandchildren, Mary Carson Johnson,Noah Johnson and Anna Johnson; and a number of nieces andnephews.
Pallbearers will be Doug Johnson, David Johnson, PhillipJohnson, Greg Smith, Darrell McManus, Roger Smith and GlenLaird.
Honorary pallbearers will be Malcolm Wallace, Hendrix Laird andThomas Welch.
