Services for Geneva E. Smith Davis, of Gilmer, Texas, are 10a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Harrigill Funeral Home with burial inNew Salem Cemetery in Franklin County.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Davis, 89, died Oct. 23, 2005, at a nursing home in Gilmer.She was born in Franklin County on Jan. 27, 1916, to John Allen andLucy Smith.

She was a nurse. While in Brookhaven she worked for Dr. HiramBatson and King’s Daughters Hospital. She attended New ProspectBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Willie LeeDavis; and a son, Willie Jewel Davis.

Survivors are her daughter, Juanita Davis, of Diana, Texas; twograndchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
