Services for Johnny Thompson, of Sontag, are 2 p.m. Monday, Feb.13 at Johnson Grove Church of Christ with burial in WellmanCemetery.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 to 12p.m. at Harrigill Funeral Home.

Mr. Thompson, 62, died Feb. 11, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on Nov. 13, 1943, to Johnny AlexanderThompson and Para Lee Smith Thompson.

He was a retired lieutenant with the Lincoln County Sheriff’sDepartment and a Lincoln County Jail administrator. He was a memberof Wellman Baptist Church. He was a veteran of Vietnam.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, VersieWinfred “Buddy” Thompson, and Robert L. Thompson; and his sister,Geneva Lee Cockerham.

Survivors are his wife, Gail Thompson, of Sontag; his son,Johnny Carroll Thompson and his wife, Melissa J., of Bogue Chitto;his daughter, Melissa Gail Craft and her husband, Paul Craft Jr.,of Sontag; his brothers, Lloyd Thompson and Gene Thompson, both ofBogue Chitto, and Nelson Thompson, of Monticello; his sisters, RubyWatts, of Brookhaven, and Peggy Lee, of Monticello; and hisgrandchildren, Johnny Bradon “Brady” Thompson, Makayla ElizabethCraft and Chase Alexander Thompson.
