Cougars win; Davis slugs Huntington

Paul Davis doubled twice and homered in leading the BrookhavenAcademy Cougars to a 10-2 Monday night trouncing of the Huntington(La.) Academy Hounds. Davis went 3-for-3, with 3 RBIs. He also washit by a pitch.
The hard-hitting Cougars, coached by Stephen Cooksey, hikedtheir record to 15-2 overall and remained 8-1 in the District 4-AArace.
Cooksey’s team resumes play today, at Bowling Green inFranklinton, La. The Division 4-AA action begins at 5:30.
Ben McKinney pitched last night’s win over Huntington, raisinghis record to 4-0 on the season. He struck out 2 batters and walked3.,
Huston Eliser was charged with the loss. He fanned 5 and walkednone.
At the plate, Davis was followed by Steven Covington who went3-for-3, with a double and 2 singles. he also had an RBI.
Seth Davis accounted for 2 doubles and 4 RBIs. Ryan Vanderslice,Jeremy Winborne and Kolby Byrd doubled. Keith Franklin and CoreyDickerson singled as the Cougars roared to a 9-1, fourth-inninglead.
The Hounds were led by Trey Corbett who doubled and singled.Landon Willard doubled.
Huntington got singles from Tony Jordan and Trey Brasher.
