MONTICELLO — Sponsored by the Lawrence County High SchoolFastpitch Booster Club, and catered by the Monticello IGASuperValu, the LCHS fastpitch team held its annual awards banquetat the Monticello Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Lawrence County coaches Beronica Stringfellow and Jill Haneypresented each player with a district championship plaque andissued the following additional awards and recognitions.

Named to the All-District Team from Lawrence County were RhiannaGarrett, Ashley Jones, Emily Smith, Tiara Townsend and KatieStokes

Other Awards went to Rhianna Garrett, Best Offensive Player;Kate Davis, Best Defensive Player; Dee Dee Walker, Most ImprovedPlayer; Ashley Jones, Most Valuable Player, and Ryane Garrett,Cougar Award

Shortstop Emily Smith was named to the Cougar Fastpitch Hall ofFame

LCHS Athletic Director Mike Davis presented the Division 6-4Achampionship trophy to Coaches Haney and Stringfellow.

Junior Varsity Awards went to Alexandria Harris, Best OffensivePlayer; Tyra Griffin, Best Defensive Player; Jessie Alexander, MostImproved Player; and Hannah Calcote, Cougar Award.
