Audrey S. Laird

Services for Audrey S. Laird, of West Lincoln, were 3 p.m.Sunday, July 9, at New Prospect Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Community Funeral Service was in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Laird, 76, died July 6, 2006, at her home. She was born onJan. 24, 1930, to Lucien L. Smith and Naomi Stewart Smith.

She was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County, who was raised inthe Enterprise community and lived her adult life in the WestLincoln community. She was retired from Jacobson Manufacturing. Shewas also a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. On March 24,1948, she married Harold Laird. She was loved by all that wereblessed to know her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, Harvey D.Smith, R.E. Smith and half brother Harold E. Hemphill.

Survivors are her husband, Harold Laird; her sons, Randy Lairdand his wife, Mary, of the West Lincoln community, and RussellLaird and his wife, Sandra, of Brookhaven; her daughter, TheresiaFreeman and her husband, Roy, of Starkville; seven grandsons; fourgrand-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; her sister Doris Smith;her sister-in-law, Jewell Smith, of Grayling, Mich.; and many lovednieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice and New ProspectChurch Fund.

Odree May Jr.

Services for Odree May Jr., of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m. Friday,Aug. 4 at Norfield Bethel M.B. Church in Bogue Chitto with burialin Bogue Chitto-Norfield Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mr. May, 61, died July 30, 2006, at his residence. He was bornon Oct. 17, 1944, to Odree May Sr. and Annie May.

He worked for Odee Smith Construction Co. prior to beingdisabled. He was a member of Norfield Bethel M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, HenryLouis May.

Survivors are his wife, Myrtis May, of Bogue Chitto; his sons,Thomas Black, of Brookhaven, and Odree May III and his wife, TinaMay, of Bremerton, Wash.; his daughters, Lora Youngblood and herhusband, Larry, of Tylertown, Andrea Richardson and her husband,Glen, of Dallas, Texas, Shonda Collins and her husband, Rodney, ofBogue Chitto, and Shelia May, Christianna May and TaNeisha May, allof Bogue Chitto; his brothers, Willie Graham, of Brookhaven, CurtisMay and his wife, Velveta, of McComb, and Larry May, of BogueChitto; his sisters, Dorothy May, of Chicago, Ill., HattieBlackwell and her husband, Gainer, of Chicago, and Betty May, ofBogue Chitto, Barbara Mitchell and her husband, Vincent, AnnetteMay and Brenda May, all of Bogue Chitto; 14 grandchildren; and manynieces and nephews.
