Services for Avanelle Dykes Everett, of Magee, are 2 p.m.Sunday, Sept. 3, at First Baptist Church of Magee with burial inMagee City Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 3 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Everett, 84, died Aug. 30, 2006, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Walthall County on Oct.25, 1921, to B. Nelson Dykes and Anna Estella Pope Dykes.

She was a retired elementary school teacher. She was a member ofAntioch Methodist Protestant Church of Magee. She was president anda longtime member of Women’s Missionary Society of the MethodistProtestant Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, the Rev.Aubrey Cortez Everett; and her three sisters.

Survivors are her sons, Aubrey Dykes Everett, of Brookhaven, VanDerrell Everett, of Kernersville, N.C., and Ted Owin Everett, ofMuscle Shoals, Ala.; her daughters, Gaynell Akins Fuller and TamaJoy Schaub, both of Magee, and Lacey Hubbard Rowe, of Brandon; her14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
