Co-Lin, Jones split

ELLISVILLE — Joseph Langham posted the win and Ryan Hoben gotthe save as the Co-Lin Wolves held off the Jones County Bobcats fora 3-2 win Wednesday in the first game of a baseballdoubleheader.
Langham, a sophomore right-hander from Wesson, struck out 5batters and walked 3 to improve his record to 3-2. Hoben worked theseventh inning.
In the second game, Jones County knocked off Co-Lin 6-3.
The Wolves improved to 14-13 overall and the Bobcats fell to8-19.
Co-Lin, coached by Keith Case, hosts East Central Saturday for 2games at Sullivan Field. The first contest begins at 1 p.m.
Co-Lin 3, Jones County 2
The Wolves took a 2-1 lead in the secondinning over the Bobcats. Co-Lin scored the go-ahead run in thethird and held on for the win.
Powering the Wolves with a double was Steven Gauthe. Singling werePaul Davis, Jordan Toney, Timmy Foster, Taebyus Smith, Brandon
Chretien and Hoben.
Absorbing the loss was Kyle Boswell with4 strikeouts and 1 walk in seven innings.
At the plate, Chad Glaze sparked the Bobcats with a pair ofdoubles. Also doubling was Jared Kordaner.
Jones County 6, Co-Lin 3
In the second game, Co-Lin took a 2-1lead over Jones in the second inning. The Bobcats came back with 2runs in the third inning for a 3-2 lead. Jones added 3 more runs inthe fourth for a 6-2 lead. Co-Lin scored 1 in the seventh to cutthe deficit to 3 runs before the final out.
Sophomore right-hander Kyle Fairley (2-4) took the loss in thesecond game, working 3 innings with no strikeouts and 2 walks.Brett Hartfield finished the final 3 1/2 innings with 1 strikeoutand 0 walks.
Posting the win was Tyler Seaman with 9 strikeouts and 2 walks.
Davis directed the Wolves with a triple. David Allen New, JamesAntoon, Foster and Chretien singled.
Pacing Jones County was Jared Lowery with a triple, a double and asingle. Doubling and singling was Adam Evans.
