Services for Grace Lyons, of Bogue Chitto, are 2 p.m. Saturday,July 14, at New Zion Union Missionary Baptist Church in BogueChitto with burial in Bogue Chitto-Norfield Cemetery. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 1 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home,with family and friends hour from 7 until 8 p.m.
Mrs. Lyons, 80, died July 4, 2007, in an automobile accident inBrookhaven. She was born on Nov. 8, 1926, to Tom Bailey Sr. andGeorgia Anna Collins Bailey.
She was retired. She was a graduate of Lincoln County TrainingSchool and attended Tougaloo College. She was a member of New ZionUnion M.B. Church, where she was a member of the Mother’s Board,the choir and the Senior Mission.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, AlvinLyons Sr.; her son, Jerry Lyons; her sisters, Itima Walls, RosannaHenderson, Irene Redd and Elvira Marcano; and her grandson, AlvinLyons III.
Survivors are her sons, Alvin Lyons and wife Barbara, ofChicago, Ill., Charles Lyons, J.D. Lyons and wife Prima, CalvinLyons and wife Tammy, Tommy Lee Lyons and Bruce Lyons and wifeLawanda, all of Bogue Chitto; her daughters, Georgia Ann Bracey andhusband Harry, of Bogue Chitto, Grace Evelyn Carter and husbandL.E., of McComb, Linda Cook and husband Eddie, and Doris Lyons andhusband Michael, all of Bogue Chitto; her brother, the Rev. TomBailey Jr. and wife Candance, of Bogalusa, La.; her sister, MarieBraxton and husband Hugh, of Bogue Chitto; her 23 grandchildren and21 great-grandchildren.
