BA teams trounce PCS Saints

PRENTISS – Freshman Laura Beth Wright pumped in 14 points andpulled down 5 rebounds to power the Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougarsto a 59-17 Tuesday night win over the Prentiss Christian LadySaints.

In boys action, Jake Reed fired in 19 points, grabbed 8 reboundsand made 6 assists to lead the Cougars to an easy 71-34 victoryover the Saints.

Brookhaven Academy hosts Simpson County Friday night.

Brookhaven 59, PCS 17

For Coach Barry Gray’s 8-2 Lady Cougars, Terah Winborne addedsupport with 8 points, 3 rebounds and 5 steals. Prentiss Christiangot 6 points from Carley Hamilton.

The Lady Cougars roared to a 37-9 halftime lead.

Brookhaven 71, PCS 34

The Brookhaven boys (7-2), coached by Dale Watts, got 13 points, 5rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals from Blaine Roberts. They led52-12 at halftime.

PCS was led by Keaton Stamps with 7 points.
