Services for Jessie B. Boyd, of Summit, were 1 p.m. Saturday,Feb. 28, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel in Brookhaven with burialin Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery in Pike County.

Mrs. Boyd, 92, died Feb. 25, 2009, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. She was born on Oct. 22, 1916, to JosephBardwell and Florence Leonard.

She was a machine operator for Stahl Urban Co. She was a memberof Calvary Baptist Church, but attended Union Hall Baptist Churchon Nola Road. Mrs. Boyd was a Worthy Matron of the Order of theEastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lonnie V.Boyd; her sons, Lonnie V. Boyd Jr. and Lauvaughn Boyd; herdaughters, Faye Roberts and Rosemary Rippy; her brothers, EmmettBardwell, Vernon Bardwell, Woodie Bardwell and Quitman Bardwell;and her sisters, Essie Kilpatrick and Josephine Baker; agranddaughter, Melinda Sue Jordan; a grandson, Ricky Case; and agreat-granddaughter, Michelle Bessonette.

Survivors are a daughter, Evelyn Bigner and husband, Merlon, ofSummit; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Boyd, of Bogue Chitto; her 15grandchildren; her 38 great-grandchildren; her ninegreat-great-grandchildren; her 10 step great-grandchildren; and ahost of nieces and nephews.
