Services for Carl David “Buck” Roberts Sr., of Bogue Chitto, arenoon Wednesday, July 1, at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church with burialin Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service.

Mr. Roberts, 62, died June 28, 2009, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born on April 28, 1947, to CarlRoberts and Lyllian Boyte Roberts.

He was a retired welder and also retired from the MississippiDepartment of Transportation. Mr. Roberts was a part of the MasonicLodge of Bogue Chitto and Crossroad Boys Quartet. He was also alifelong member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church. Mr. Roberts was anavid fisherman and hunter. He adored his children, grandchildrenand his closet friends.

Preceding him in death were his father, Carl Roberts; hisgrandparents, Everett and Gertrude Boyte; and his honorary brother,Bud Givens.

Survivors are his mother, Lyllian Boyte Roberts; his children,Joey Cannon and wife, Amy, of Bogue Chitto, Wendy Roberts Boyd andhusband, Wayne, of Jayess, Dana Pyeatt and husband, Mikey, of BogueChitto, Buddy Roberts and Robby Roberts and wife, Dawn, all ofBogue Chitto; his sisters, Beverly Durham and husband, Jesse, ofBogue Chitto, and Katie Love and husband, David, of Brookhaven; hishonorary brothers, Charlie Hart and Royce Wilson; and his ninegrandchildren, Brandi and Samantha Boyd, of Jayess, Kellie and ColeLaird, Carrie Pyeatt, Cameron and Hunter Cannon, Kobe and ColtinRoberts, all of Bogue Chitto.
